Recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes?

PARTICIPATION CHECKLIST
You may be eligible if you:
have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within the past 8 weeks; AND
  are between the ages of 8-30 years old; AND
  weigh at least 55 lbs (25 kg)
     
You may NOT be eligible if you:
  are currently pregnant or breastfeeding; OR
  have asthma; OR
  have participated in another clinical trial within the past 6 weeks

The AbATE trial is seeking volunteers to test teplizumab for its ability to slow or halt the progression of type 1 diabetes.

The AbATE Trial is for men and women between the ages of 8 and 30 who have been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Initial type 1 diabetes diagnosis must have taken place within the past 8 weeks. The study is not open to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those who have untreated heart failure or who have participated in another clinical trial within the past 6 weeks. Consult the checklist to the right to determine if you could be eligible.
